Good for the Planet
Our Sustainable Materials
From the start, A Slice of Green has been all about finding the best materials and making them into long-lasting products for those wanting to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
Read on to learn more about the materials we use and how these are better for our planet.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is one of the safest materials to use with food and drinks. Free from BPA, phthalates and lead, stainless steel is anti-bacterial and easy to clean, and it does not absorb flavour or odour from contents.
Organic Cotton
We only use GOTS certified organic cotton in our range of fabric reusables - that's our produce bags, unsponges, unpaper towels and wipes.
Organic cotton is grown naturally, which means it's both better for the environment and better for you. It is extremely soft, really durable and long-lasting too.
Recycled Cotton
Recycled cotton is re-purposed, post-industrial or post-consumer cotton that would otherwise be sent straight to landfill.
Cellulose Sponge
Cellulose is the material that makes up the walls of a plant cell and our sponges are made from wood pulp & cotton, which are abundant and renewable natural materials.
Wood & Plant-based
All our brushes are made with wooden handles and plant-based bristles in all our brushes, so they are vegan friendly and plastic-free. Usually brushes are either made out of synthetic - plastic - bristles, or animal hair bristles.
We use different types of plant-based bristles for each of our brushes as each bristle type has specific properties, and so the bristle type is selected for optimum performance.
